"After authorities in London deemed that some existing park benches were a potential nuisance (attractors for the homeless, etc) they were removed. Rather than protesting in front of the city council or writing a letter to the editors of a newspaper, one group of Londoners decided to reclaim the public space by installing their own benches under cover of darkness. Actually this band of 'anarchists', who were armed only with power tools and wearing yellow safety vests, bolted their benches onto the sidewalks in broad daylight." added on 2009-01-05

"stay at my home" is a series of objects for the good host.
It enables him to install a comfortable overnight stay for his guest.
The main object of the series is a comfortable mattress, which offers the guest a comfortable bed for the night.
Due to a special foam composition, the mattress can be rolled up and stowed away under the furniture.
The furniture serves as a basis for the guest, here he can place his belongings. In the drawer of the furniture, cover, pillow and the bedside lamp are stored. The drawer can be removed from the furniture and can be placed as a storage box within easy reach from the bed.
The torchlike lamp simplifies the orientation for the guest. The arrow-shaped carpet does not only symbolize the warm welcome, but can also point into a room as an invitation.
The light weight objects offer the guests the freedom to position the bedding as they like.
The series doesn’t have to be hidden in the attic anymore, but forms an ensemble that can stay in the living area.

"The Omega desk offers a big desktop and two storage shelves beneath, formed by a single bend surface. The design therefore has a very light and open appeal to it. The Omega chair is based on the same principal. Its floating seat enhances the feeling of lightness. The strong color of the outside in combination with the white rim outlines the simple shapes of the furniture and underline their graphic expression.

"Swiss designers Tina Stieger and Annina Gaehwiler of Pour les Alpes have designed a collection of furniture called Echos.

There are three pieces in the range, all created in collaboration with traditional, local artisans in the Swiss Alps.

Neugierde is covered with hand-cut spruce shingles, referring to a local roofing technique, while the inside is coated in luminescent red paint.

Ehrfurcht is covered in ebony and opens to reveal a jagged, hand-carved interior made of Swiss pine.

The third piece, Sehnsucht, incorporates hand-woven lace in blue, grey and white tones, supported by a fibreglass panel.

"Our vision is to create products in close coorporation with the traditional crafts from the Swiss alpine culture," explain the designers. "The idea focuses on creating strong and unique objects of desire, which have a recognisable cultural identity." added on 2009-01-02

"Chairfix breaks away from habitual definitions of discipline. It illustrates an open-ended approach towards furniture design that draws on fashion and art as much as it does on design, and results in pieces of furniture that may go into low cost development or keep and increase their value as unassembled unique panels.

The chair is produced by a straightforward application of cutting into a flat plywood sheet, supported by a computerized process allowing for a controlled balance of the depth of the cutting leaving little bridges that keep the parts in place. The chair is delivered flat and easily assembled on location. The parts snap out and slot into a rigid structure, a clever slotting detail creating a springy shape that eliminates the need for glue or fixtures. "
